While in a greetings card shop today, I noticed some inspirational postcards, and one has stuck in my mind.
Don’t look for miracles; spend your days as if miracles are all around.
It makes a lot of sense. So many people are always looking and waiting for the next ‘big thing’, whether it be an event, a windfall, or whatever. They are so consumed by the need to get there, that they don’t see how wonderful everything else is.
They miss the beauty of the world around them. They don’t witness the elderly couple walking hand in hand, still as in love as they were 50 years ago.
They miss the changing beauty of the seasons. The breathtaking sunsets.
If we become complacent about any of these things, then it’s only a matter of time until we become complacent towards each other.
Seize each day. They may be more limited than you know.
